Imagine a new kind of musical…

…Joy, Heart, Harmony. Founded using a Nursery Theatre Original’s Grant in 2018, Acaprov is a 5* improvised a cappella long form musical directed by award winning actor, singer and improviser Lisa Lynn (HOOPLA, Hell Yeah!, Southend 48, Not GCSE Drama, Diploma de Impro - Colombia). Based in London, England; the show brings together Beat-Boxing, Rap, Body Percussion, Acting, Dance, Singing, Improv and heart to entertain audiences world wide.

Every performance is unique. Acaprov take a location and title from the audience before spontaneously creating a non-stop musical that will make you laugh, cry, dance in your seat, and sing all the way home! Everything seen and heard is 100% invented in the moment and entirely from the minds, mouths and bodies of the performers - completely a cappella.

After an acclaimed opening run at The Nursery Theatre London, Acaprov now perform at (and sell out) multiple London venues regularly, notably their monthly residency at ‘The Green’ Shoreditch Balls, London the second Friday of every month. Nationally, Acaprov have performed in many cities including Manchester, Leicester, Southend-on-Sea, and at the Royal Court Theatre in Wigan with a capacity of 1200 - our largest venue to date.

Both Nationally and Internationally Acaprov were immediately invited to perform their ground-breaking musical at Festivals and as guests - they appeared in 5 World wide festivals in their first 18 months (before the pandemic hit). In the UK Acaprov sold out at their first Brighton Fringe run of 6 shows; and the Leicester Improv Comedy Festival. Internationally they sold out TILT Festival Estonia; SO Improfest Bulgaria; as Frei.Wild Impro Theatre’s guests at the International Cultural Centre in Berlin; and as Stockholm Improv Comedy’s guests performing our 2 hour show at The Improvisations Studion.

During the COVID-19 lockdowns Acaprov went online with our workshops and pre-recorded shows via ZOOM and YouTube in collaboration with many theatres and festivals including: The Hideout Theatre, Texas; The MOPCO Theatre, New York; HighWire Improv, Baltimore; The Amsterdam Online Improvathon; and Twitch favourites Extreme Improv.

In 2022 we headlined the Improfest Odramtiska Festival in Gothenburg; before ending the year at the Ireland Improv Festival in Dublin; and offering ImproNeuf Workshops in Norway. 2024 saw the launch of The Acaprov Podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. This year we sold out the Espontaneo Festival, Portugal, launched our kids show AcaKids, and were invited to South America.

2026 should see the rise of USAcaprov and CanadAcaprov - as well as our debut at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Our dream is to reach the West End and Broadway, then tour - if you would like to support us please click on out donation page - we appreciate you, thanks!
